Psychology of Women and Qualities Representative
Hi my name is Farah! I’m a 3rd year ESRC funded PhD student in Health Sciences at the University of Warwick. I am delighted to be your Psychology of Womens and Equalities (POWES) Representative. My PhD is looking at using virtual reality tools to improve the social cognition deficits in those with first episode psychosis.
I graduated from Keele University with a BSc in Philosophy and Psychology, and completed a MSc in Psychological Research Methods, at the University of Sheffield. Alongside this, I have significant clinical and research experience, having worked as both an Assistant Psychologist and a Research Assistant prior to starting my PhD.
I am very passionate about raising awareness of and solving gender and equality issues, and am keen to work with you all to make positive changes. I am excited to work with PsyPAG and the BPS POWES Committee to continue to build inclusive alliances across the field of Psychology.
I am looking forward to representing the views of those passionate about the POWES Section. If you have any suggestions or questions, please feel free to get in touch at F.Elahi@warwick.ac.uk or on twitter @FarahElahi16. Looking forward to hearing from you!
