Need help with the cost of attending a conference? PsyPAG may be able to help...
Our conference bursaries are structured to enable us to award good size bursaries to as many people as possible. There are three types of award:
  • PsyPAG International Conference Award - this is an award of up to £300 to help with the cost of attending an international conference. Typically there will be no more than four awards of this magnitude per year.
  • PsyPAG Domestic Conference Award - an award of up to £100 to help with the cost of attending a UK conference.
  • PsyPAG Annual Conference Bursaries - up to 10 awards per annum for delegates wishing to present and attend the PsyPAG Annual Conference

PsyPAG are delighted to announce that a third Bursary round has now been created for all postgraduate students looking for financial support to attend both domestic and international conferences. This new round was created in light of the increase in applications received over the past year, to deal with the greater need to support postgraduate research in the UK.

The previous structure involved two bursary rounds, in May and October. The new structure will comprise of three rounds: June, October, and February. As it was previously, the deadlines will be on the 10th of the month, and 4-6 weeks subsequent a decision will be made the Bursary team and all applicants will be notified.

Our approach is to give top-up money to lots of people rather than a small number of large bursaries to a select few. There are three rounds of applications each year for both the International Awards and the Domestic Awards, closing on 10th February, 10th June and 10th October and applications may be made retrospectively.

For the PsyPAG Annual Conference Awards, there is a single deadline, usually around mid June.

Addressing the following issues in your application is important:

  • Are all the details outlined in the application correct?
  • What is the relevance of the presentation and the conference to my research or course?
  • What do I hope to gain from attending this conference?
  • Have I justified the amount required through outlining perceived costs?
  • Have I applied for alternative funding elsewhere, and have I discussed this in my application?
  • Is my application well structured, clear and coherent?
