Conference Bursary Application Guidelines

Tips for Successful Applications

  • Please check that all details supplied on the application form are correct, most importantly your corresponding email address.  Any incorrect details may harm your chances of being awarded a bursary.
  • Abstracts must be included as part of the application document.  Please do not reference yourself in abstracts, or when listing past conference attendance and presentations.
  • Please state the amount of funding required from PsyPAG to attend the conference clearly and the uses of such finance (e.g., transportation, registration costs etc.).  The maximum amount you can apply for is £100 for a Domestic Conference and £300 for an International Conference.  The most successful applications fully justify the amount applied for and show evidence of exploring alternative funding options and cheapest forms of transport.
  • Ensure that the relevance of the conference to your research or training is made clear within your application.

Conference Bursary Criteria

  • In order to be eligible to apply, you must be registered at a UK institution. Conferences in the UK and Ireland are considered to be domestic conferences. If you are a distance learning student in another country, you will still only be able to apply for a domestic bursary if the conference is located in the UK and Ireland.
  • We cannot accept applications from those awaiting registration. If you are planning to attend a conference just after registration, you should consider applying for the next round retrospectively.
  • Similarly, we cannot normally accept applications from those who are no longer registered on a postgraduate course. This includes those who are now in employment but have not yet submitted. If you are unsure of how this affects you, please contact Jenna Condie, Information Officer info@psypag.co.uk with details of your circumstances.
  • Successful applicants must be willing to write short article for our PsyPAG Quarterly.  For more information about our publication click here

Remember….
If your application is successful, you will need to present receipts as proof of attendance and costs incurred.  So hold onto these until you hear back from the Bursary Sub-Committee.

Also, successful applicants will have their paper or poster automatically accepted for the next PsyPAG annual conference should they wish to attend.

Prospective applicants are advised that only one Bursary application can be submitted per round.
