Special Group in Coaching Psychology

Gareth Picknell

I am a lecturer at the University College Plymouth St Mark &Gareth Picknell< St John, and am currently engaged with a PhD focusing on the use of reflective practice within organisations to enhance self-awareness and experiential learning opportunities. I have also conducted research investigating stressors experienced by coaches, with the aim of identifying potential opportunities for coach education to better prepare aspiring individuals within this domain.

The Special Group in Coaching Psychology supports coaching psychologists, coaches, individual clients and organisations who are interested in learning more about coaching psychology and coaching services. The aim of the group is to promote the development of coaching psychology as a professional activity and clarify the benefits of psychological approaches within coaching practice. We are committed to fostering excellence in coaching practice through: research, events, publications, discussion and professional development.

As the section representative for the Special Group in Coaching Psychology my role is to represent postgraduate interests in this discipline by attending committee and strategic planning meetings.
