Consciousness and Experiential Psychology

Greg Elder

I was elected as the PsyPAG representative for the Consciousness and Experiential Psychology (CEP) section in July 2010, and will be working and meeting regularly with the BPS in order to represent the interests of postgraduate students and to advise them of any issues affecting postgraduate students within this area.

Section information can be found on the website, where upcoming events, conferences and news items are posted. Additional resources are available to members and these include access to the BPS CEP section journal (information available here, which is typically published twice per year (in May and November), and to the CEP mailing list. Section membership costs £5 for a student membership and details of how to join are on the website.

I recently joined the Northumbria Centre for Sleep Research at Northumbria University as a PhD student in September 2010 where I will be examining stress and other factors in the development of insomnia, and I have other research interests in attention, unconscious learning and decision-making, and in the neural areas involved in decision-making.

If you have anything you would like me to make the section aware of, suggestions for anything, or if you would like any further information, feel free to contact me at: greg.elder@northumbria.ac.uk
