Hannah Avery

Hi! I’m Hannah and I am the Psychobiology Section Rep and full-time PhD student at Northumbria University, Newcastle. My research focusses on how blood iron status affects cognitive function, mood, fatigue, and cerebral blood flow and energy expenditure in reproductive aged women. For this, I utilise neuroimaging techniques such as continuous wave Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS), Quantitative NIRS (qNIRS), alongside Indirect Calorimetry. I previously studied at Aberystwyth University and subsequently completed a Masters in Medical Sciences at Newcastle University.

I look forward to representing your views and bringing a voice to those in the field of Psychobiology! If you have any queries please feel free to contact me on hannah.l.avery@northumbria.ac.uk and follow me on Twitter @Hannah_Avery1
