My name is Jennifer and I am currently in the 2nd year of my PhD in the Institute of Health and Society at Newcastle University. I completed a masters in Health Psychology at UCL and have worked as a research assistant at City University, London and Queen Mary’s University before moving (back) north. My current research is a mixed methods study on the route taken and experience of a diagnosis of head and neck cancer. This is an investigation of the barriers and facilitators around gaining a diagnosis of head and neck cancer and includes analysis of routine data and interviews with patients and healthcare professionals. My interests are in cancer, cancer diagnosis/screening, dentists, and communication in a healthcare setting.
