Philippa Carr

I am a PhD student at Coventry University using Discursive Psychology to explore how the super-rich construct their identity to legitimise wealth inequality in society. I have an interest in wealth distribution and how individuals use their arguments in relation to taxation and welfare policy. In addition to this, I have been a visiting researcher at Osaka University examining how English speaking students construct Japanese identity.

Prior to all this, I completed an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Public Policy before working in the public sector and third sector. I completed a MSc Psychology course prior to my PhD which was a challenge as I had not studied Psychology previously. So I know that PsyPAG offers a wealth of resources and opportunities to the psychology student community.
